Attention Camrose

Where are all the Camrosian's hiding? The Bailey and Rose City Roots are bringing great entertainment to this city and I find the low crowd count astonishing. Every show I have seen so far is spectacular and yet the seats are not filled. Is it a lack of awareness? Should there be better advertising?

The Bailey Theatre offers great shows at value pricing. It's hard to go to a concert and not pay a minimum of $80. The cost to see truly amazing shows typically vary between $20-50. The parking is free and the setting is intimate. This venue is a historical site with majestic beauty.  The elegance of the building interior makes it a hidden gem.

Last week I seen two shows back to back. Friday I planned a family event to see the comedian acts Sean Lecomber and Drew Behm. Tickets were $20 per person. The comedians were hilarious and put on a great show. Sean's comedy was featured on the tonight show with Jay Leno, and he has won the Just for Laughs competition in 2007. Unfortunately there was only 27 people that came out. The next night I went and seen Slow Leaves. Tickets were $25 each. The show was being recorded live by CKUA radio. It was a great performance.

We need to make awareness in this community of the entertainment available. Posters are always posted around town, but the website for the Bailey and Rose City Roots always have upcoming shows noted. Make sure to check out the shows coming up and mark them in your calendar. Let's make the Bailey Theatre a world wide name known for great performances.

  1. Wow, I used to attend Saturday afternoon matinees in that old Bailey theatre some 65 years ago! "Gone With the Wind" was one of them. Good to know the Bailey still goes on.
