Love for Pandora Rose

I always liked Pandora but it wasn't until they released the Pandora Rose line, where my love for Pandora developed.  It started off as a gift idea for my niece's baptism. A bracelet we could build for her, through out the years, with personalized charms. Well they just so happened to be having their bracelet sale. If you spend $125 you are entitled to a free bracelet. I found the perfect opportunity to start myself a bracelet. Why not? I love silver and rose gold mix, as my wedding bands are rose gold and my wedding ring white gold.

My Pandora Rose Bracelet

The sale was starting the next day so we were unable to take our purchase home the same day. This is how they started to feed my addiction. So I return the next day to pick up my Niece's baptism gift and my bracelet with one charm. Once in the store I started looking at all the beautiful, handcrafted charms and decided my one charm bracelet was lonely and need more. Lets just say I ended up with five free bracelets and my one bracelet is almost full. I have become the Pandora gift giving Queen.

There are a lot of variations to wear Pandora. I was taught be a sales manager how to connect two or more bracelets to create a wrap bracelet. Also you can connect your bracelets to make a necklace. There is hundreds of charms to choose from. Each charm is handcrafted and inspected; I was told one charm goes through 46 people before it's completed. So when you get Pandora you know you are getting quality!

Of course I have expensive taste and seem to like the high priced charms. All the 14K gold charms are on my wish list. Along with the gold bracelet. Here are just a few of my favourite.

I know of men who have a hard time thinking of gift ideas for their wife, girlfriend, sister, mom, grandma's and this might be the answer. Each occasion could be another personalized charm. I know I hope to get more charms in the future as a gift.

Another bracelet worth considering by Pandora is the Essence line. This line of charms are smaller in size, they don't slide on the bracelet as there is silicon inside the bead allowing it to stay in place. I also have one of these bracelets. It's mission is to create a bracelet unique representing your most inspiring values. They have charms such as prosperity, happiness, patience, wealth, hope, love, curiosity, creativity, affection, caring, appreciation and many more.

Watch this video on the Essence line.

Well hope I gave some gift ideas for "hard to buy" people. You can check out all the charms and Pandora Jewelry at their website: http://www.pandora.net/en-ca

Make sure to contact your local Pandora store if you are looking to purchase the Pandora Rose, Essence, 14 K gold charms, or Disney charms. Not all Pandora stores are able to sell those lines.

Happy Shopping!

Attention Camrose

Where are all the Camrosian's hiding? The Bailey and Rose City Roots are bringing great entertainment to this city and I find the low crowd count astonishing. Every show I have seen so far is spectacular and yet the seats are not filled. Is it a lack of awareness? Should there be better advertising?

The Bailey Theatre offers great shows at value pricing. It's hard to go to a concert and not pay a minimum of $80. The cost to see truly amazing shows typically vary between $20-50. The parking is free and the setting is intimate. This venue is a historical site with majestic beauty.  The elegance of the building interior makes it a hidden gem.

Last week I seen two shows back to back. Friday I planned a family event to see the comedian acts Sean Lecomber and Drew Behm. Tickets were $20 per person. The comedians were hilarious and put on a great show. Sean's comedy was featured on the tonight show with Jay Leno, and he has won the Just for Laughs competition in 2007. Unfortunately there was only 27 people that came out. The next night I went and seen Slow Leaves. Tickets were $25 each. The show was being recorded live by CKUA radio. It was a great performance.

We need to make awareness in this community of the entertainment available. Posters are always posted around town, but the website for the Bailey and Rose City Roots always have upcoming shows noted. Make sure to check out the shows coming up and mark them in your calendar. Let's make the Bailey Theatre a world wide name known for great performances.

Embrace Pastel Blondes

The latest and greatest trending hair colour is the pastel blondes. Rose gold hair is going to be the top pastel colour trending this year.  I could not resist the urge to spontaneously transform my regular blonde into a pastel rose gold/pink blonde.

Enjoying spring with my new colour

I would like to give some pointers for those considering to dye their hair any pastel blonde shades. Check out your wardrobe. I found after changing my hair colour I am unable to wear a lot of my clothes as they clash with my hair. More neutral tones such as black, creme, white, grey, beige clothes are more flattering with these pastels. Too many pastel clothes with the pastel hair may leave you looking like an Easter egg.

The maintenance to keep your colour vibrant may require more visits to your hairstylist. Be aware if taking on this trend, more time and money potentially will be invested in your hair. To avoid your hair from fading quickly, hair should be washed at least every second day with fairly cool water. Hot water fades hair faster. So it may be in your interest to purchase a dry shampoo product. Another trick is to add colour to your conditioner in the shower.

I use Davines products and love this dry shampoo!

If you come from a small town, or less cultured environment get ready for some "hard stares" by people in the community. I think I frightened some of my patients. One elderly patient of mine had a huge smile on his face. I questioned him "Are you laughing at my hair?" He responded "Yes." Remember not all people are into fashion and you will get some rude comments here and there, but don't let it discourage your sense of style. I embraced the laughter with my patient, and respected his perspective. We are in a different era and not all people will share your love for new trends.

I am loving my hair currently and pondering what I will do next. I'm thinking a lilac blonde as it is my second favourite pastel blonde. I may need to re-build my wardrobe with more neutral shades if I continue my pastel journey for months to come.

Comment below and post your Pastel Hairstyle. I would love to see the newsfeed fill  up with glorious pastels for the spring season!

Happy Easter

Worthy Tune

Have you heard of Elle King?  Her song, Ex's & Oh's, has caught my attention! I just had to post this video for all to enjoy. Ended up purchasing her whole CD that was just released, Feb 13, 2015, titled Love Stuff. Another interesting fact, she is Rob Schneider's daughter! Former cast member from Saturday Night Live. After reading up on her musical influences I now understand why I appreciate her music. As per Wikipedia " . . . . at 13, King started playing guitar, immersing herself in the music of Otis Redding, the Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs, Etta James, Aretha Franklin, Al Green, Hank Williams, Jonny Cash, AC/DC . . . . ." This musician is winning my heart. Check her out.

MAC-neficiant Days

Where would I be without my Mac cosmetics? I was told by a professional make-up artist "You have a lot of make-up for a white girl!!!" Indeed, I do purchase a ton of product but without proper application it's useless.

So two of my best friends and I booked ourselves a educational class with Sen Studio's in Edmonton, Alberta. We spent two hours with the super talented, Sunita Sumaru, professional make up artist. I felt like I was in the Kindergarten stage of make-up application. I was shocked on the knowledge I retained in two hours. We showed up feeling naked, with absolutely no make-up on.  I wouldn't say I graduated from make-up school that day but I definitely advanced to junior high or high school level! I assure you when we left we were glowing and radiant. I now incorporate the techniques into my daily routine.

Now I have discovered my make-up on so many more levels than before. I can actually post my favourite, most frequently used items. So lets begin my perspective of "must have" product.

Mac Cosemetics Custom 15 Palette
Top row (left-right): Vanilla, Cork, Shroom, Bamboo, Honesty
Middle row (left-right): Blanc Type, Soft Brown, Omega, Quarry, Deep Damson
Bottom row (left-right): All that Glitters, Brown Down, Swiss Chocolate, Kid, Copperplate
The Bolded shades are my top fav eye to create. All that glitters is a MAC STAPLE. Every girl should have this shade.

Best Mac Paint Pot: Painterly! This is to be applied on the eyelid for prep.

Also included in this photo is my top three Fluid Line: Dip down (I use the most), black track, and blitz & glitz. I love the Mac Extremely Black False lashes mascara. The Mineralize line for concealer and powder. Margin for a blush shade. The one non Mac product I use is the Laura Mercier contour kit from Sephora.

These are just a few suggestions. Everyone will vary on what shades look best for their skin tone.

If you are in need of help for make-up application classes, and require advice on which shades to use I would have to direct you to the experts. They also have hair teaching classes, which will be my next step in the future. I wish that when I was growing up I had the opportunity to learn proper techniques. I think this is a perfect gift idea for any teenage girl. Having said that I have provided the link to  Sen Studio's website for more information.

These gorgeous ladies also pair up with Katch Studio Photography. Another great local resource to check out if you are thinking about boudoir photos.

Kat Gill: Photographer

I had the opportunity to book a Boudoir marathon with Kat Gill and this is where I was introduced to the Sen Studio team. All these gorgeous ladies are highly professional and truly talented individuals. Each one of them are inspirational. The photos speak for themselves. My boudoir photo book was my wedding gift to my husband. My idea was stolen from my best friend Jeanna, who also did a Katch boudoir marathon. My philosophy is every women should do this at least once in their life so they have images of how beautiful they are from the inside out.

Here is one of my favourite Boudoir photos that I feel is appropriate to post on this blog. A classy, timeless photo captured by Kat.
