tWIG aDDICTION

This blog post is long time overdue. Intended originally to be my initial post but I was beat by Farm Wife Style. Anyone who knows me is aware of my "Twig Addiction". On a day off I go to Twig and browse the store for a few hours, as well as visit with staff. This is known as "A Heather day" according to my husband.

Have you been to the Twig Designs store yet? I have heard people comment it is the Anthropology of Camrose. In my opinion, this store is better than Anthropology. There literally is something for everyone of all ages. It's mainly a clothing boutique for ladies fashion, but I swear no matter what your age there will  be at least one item you will love. For example, at Twig, you can find several items such as purses, socks, dresses, leggings, swimwear, intimate wear, outdoor wear, cards for all occasions, jewelry, candles, perfume, lotions, scarves, gloves, slippers, books, colouring books, unique toys, decor, blankets, and much much more.

Twig was established November 2010, and is located in the heart of Camrose, Alberta, at 4953 50th street.  Envisioned and created by the super talented owner Lindsay Anderson. She is an inspirational women to our community, and an exceptional entrepreneur. The staff are all welcoming, and one of a kind, with admirable fashion suggestions. They give honest opinions and listen to their customers concerns when searching for that perfect outfit. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting and the decor is eye-catching and impeccable. The store is constantly rearranged and innovative. You can go in a week later and you will find something you missed the week before. It's almost a game to me, find that shirt I was contemplating a week later, and on my search I find two more articles of clothing I missed a week prior. It's pure genius really!

I used to fight the Edmonton crowds when I needed to find something to wear for a special event. Even then the clothes I found I didn't LOVE they were just accepted, due to lack of energy to try harder. I can easily say my wardrobe is almost entirely from Twig! I get endless compliments every time I venture out. I admit I do have the ability to piece together a complete look with appropriate accessories, but mostly this is all help from Twig and their staff. I actually carry Twig Design business cards, in my purse, and give them out when complete strangers are asking where I got my clothes.

Now I am pregnant the thought of Maternity clothing stores nauseates me. I cannot bring myself to shop in a store with such boring clothing styles. Lucky for me, my wardrobe already consists of free-flowing tops that I know I will be able to continue wearing throughout my term. I also know that Twig will never let me down. They stay up on the latest trends and there will always be something I can find that will suit my personality while my little bambino continues to grow!

My friends and family are all to familiar with my After Hours Twig Events.  This is my type of Ladies Night! What could be better than having all your favourite peeps out for a night of shopping? An entire store exclusive all night, full of blissful shopping, and friends making you try on items outside of your usual picks. Those items tend to become your next beloved outfit.   I'm sure the partners of my invited guests don't appreciate Twig Night, as it can be dangerous to the bank account. But some ladies seldom get the opportunity to shop for themselves in a relaxed environment. Every women deserves a night off to find something to reflect their inner beauty. I like to think I provide the women, in my life, a night to remember with the ultimate shopping experience at Twig. I bet you couldn't arrange such an event with a big time Franchise company!

This store is a well known household name, and people drive from afar to shop at the famous Twig store. People joke that I practically own shares, but that is just a dream. I am completely satisfied with watching our small town business flourish. If you have read any of my previous blogs, you know that I am 100% pro supporting our local economy.  It's like that did you know quote: "If each of us spent $100 a year more on local businesses instead of chain stores, it would put an extra $3 million a year into our economy, not only that but it would create thousands of more jobs every year". #Supportlocalbusinesses.

All the unique items are found in Twig are handpicked by Lindsay and  her staff. They take pride in their choices bringing local and world-wide merchants into the store.  Farm Wife Style, Eliasz & Ella, Karen Chopik, Cloud & Lolly, Kaylee Rose, Lovers Tempo, Glee,  are just a few examples of the support they attribute to our local vendors.

Twig takes Local to a whole other level. Choosing the incredibly skilled Crown Photography to photograph local residents sharing their trendy wardrobe purchased from Twig. The images created used for advertising how people in the community wear their most cherished Twig purchases.
